He turned to face him again, letting his eyes stay neutral and not so...erm, creeperish. "Does it now? I suppose it would...if you crave companionship. I have a puffin so i'm never alone. Plus, my bror visits sometimes...Or that creepy Russian..." The Icelandic had nothing against the Russian, but he couldn't help and feel suspicious about him in the least.
He then let his eyes look the Brit over. As expected, he was taller than himself; everyone was. That was something that Ari never really liked; he was so short. He let his eyes scan back up until he was staring at those emerald hues again.
He stopped shifting his weight from foot to foot and left it equal this time, feeling a bit of relief. He hadn't done anything much that day which was exactly the reason he kept shifting his weight; he wasn't used to being on his feet today.

He gave a half smile, resting hand once more on his doorknob. "Well, you seem tired. Shall I let you get on with your evening?" Honestly, he didn't want the conversation to end, but he no longer wanted to be on the subject of how he had no companionship in his life.
He watched the shorter male continue to shift his wait, presuming that he hadn't been up much today and his feet were asleep. He looked into his eyes, just out of curiosity; there was something there this time, but what...?
His grip on his doorknob tightened as he waited for a reply. He was tired, and the couch called to him, but he was feeling a bit happier than usual and didn't want to sleep.

"I'm not tired at all. I've been resting all day..." He replied. Ari then moved his feet a bit, getting them more comfortable, "But we can change the subject if that's what is bothering you, Arthur."
For what seemed like the first time, he blinked, letting his eyes go emotionless again. He wouldn't let anyone see his emotions, ever. Before he had blinked, his eyes had seemed to hold loneliness. In all honesty, no matter how the Icelander talked, he needed friends.
"Anyway, what would you like to talk about now...? Or should I just let you sleep? You look like you want some..." He started to back up towards his door. He would leave the Brit alone and go back inside his complex if that's what Arthur wanted. Why make an enemy today, anyways?

While Arthur's mouth said one thing, his eyes said another. "No. Sleep can come later." He hadn't meant to seem so eager to stay, but it had just been too long...
"Let's see here..." he muttered, going through what topics the two of them could discuss. "Have you heard the rumor about the kidnapper on the loose?" Smooth move, he thought. What better way to make friends then to talk about a kidnapper!
As he waited for the reply, he inwardly screamed at himself for not coming up with something better. Way to bring work home, Arthur, you bloody git...

He took notice in how eager the Brit sounded. Did Arthur really need a friend that bad? Surely Ari could try to be a 'friend.'
"A kidnapper, you say? I haven't heard of that. Care to share?" He asked in interest. This was the most interesting thing he'd heard all day. That was to be expected, of course, since the only person he had talked to all day was his puffin who tended to speak foully about his brother.
He leaned back against the wall, waiting for the Englishman to reply. He honestly was enjoying the conversation he was having with the man in front of him.

He nodded. "I've heard that he's been around in this part of town... I do believe, if I remember my facts correctly, he tried to make off with a little girl about a week ago. Lucky for her, her father had been close enough by to stop him." He sighed, "He got away before the police arrived."
That wouldn't have happened if I was still on the force, he thought bitterly, biting the inside of his cheek. He never waited for another trooper when there had been a call; he had always just taken off, ready for the action that awaited him.
But that was over now, he had to realize. He just needed to focus on his job now.
